Life on the road

Well I have a little time to write a note. Congratulations to my friend Anna for her new baby boy! I am so excited for her.
So far the trip was going good. We get to see lots of Hugh. We saw some of his family and now we are just burning time. there is not much to do in Georgia but we seem to be managing well. Then Friday night hit and we were eating dinner (I got food from a grocery store) and I discover that the apple sauce has something growing in it. Like a biology petri dish experiment. Oh this is after both my children consume a container each. Well during the night Leo got sick and has had a HIGH fever all day. He is taking his second nap and it is now 6pm. But I do think this nap is doing a lot of good. So if he is up all night playing then so be it as long as he is better and happy. We did however go see "Horton Hears a Who" (Leo slept through half of it.) It was really cute and I was glad we got to go as a family. This was the first time I had been to the theater with Katie and it was Leos first time going to. I don't know if he did so good because he was sick and tired or if he liked seeing the big screen. I will have to try sometime when he is feeling better. That is our trip so far in a nut shell. Soon I will be on my way to South Carolina for a little while and then we will see from there. I have really enjoyed seeing Hugh. I know the kids have enjoyed being around him too. They have had lots of fun with him. It will be sad to leave. But soon this will be all over. Well thanks for reading this boring blog. I was board.

The Dress Is DONE!!

Well I don't really like these pictures but by the time I showed my Mom how to take the picture my batteries died. But here is the dress. I really like it. The colors go great together. The invisible zipper didn't get put in because I couldn't get the attachment to work right on my machine. But I think overall it looks great.

Im glad this week is over

Well the plan was to have my dress done by today. But with life as it is, it didn't get done. Why? Well I think my last post explains it all. And if that wasn't bad enough, yesterday we found out my Moms chickens have mites. It was discovered by me placing my hands on them not knowing it and discovering them crawling all over my hands. I wont go into details but the source of them was discovered. I just have to hope now that my parakeet doesn't get them. Oh did I mention it was a long week. I was looking forward to the kids going to bed tonight so I could relax, plan my lesson for tomorrow and think about how my dress is going to look when its all done. Those plans changed while I was reading the kids a bed time story "The Monster at the End of the Book". Its a cute book. That's when I heard a bit of commotion down stairs, and then the door opened and my Mom informed me that Lilly had been sprayed again. BLAH!!! So I proceeded to put the kids to bed and then made my run to Wally-World to pick up the necessities to wash the dog. By the way for future reference you are supposed to make a mixture of peroxide, baking soda, and liquid detergent. I think it works but for all I know I smell like a skunk right now. I am sure I do. So it took me about 2 1/2 hours to take care of Lilly... again. I am glad the week is over and I hope tomorrow, my start of a new week will be lots better. Oh and keep in mind I am also packing up my stuff and travel bags to leave for Georgia. The day after Easter we leave.

Every Dog has (his) Her Day!

Any one know what this is?

You got it. Every dog owners worst nightmare. Anna you have my permission to laugh your head off at this one. My dogs been SKUNKED! It is awful. Actually you get used to the smell after a while but don't leave the room. Cause when you come back to it, its a big blow to the nose. And is smells different concentrated then diluted. Tomorrow she will probably get a hair cut on her neck after her hair has dried.

Dress Update

Well I have worked on my dress today. My Mom took Katie with her to go to an appointment for Shawn and it just happens to fall during Leo's nap time. So I have been working on my dress. I got further than I thought I was going to get while he slept. I would say it is a little more than half way done. I just have to put the zipper in (which is what has caused the delay because it is an invisible zipper), sew the front and back together which is done after the zipper and sew in the sleeves which is done after sewing the front and back together and then put in the interfacing in and hem it. It sounds like a lot but it will go quickly after the zipper is in. I hope to have all that done tonight. And I guess I wont hold you in suspense. I will have a picture posted as soon as it is done.

And for the time change, it has been GREAT for us. My kids can now seem to stay up till 7 and sleep till 8. It was so great today to wake up this morning and the clock didn't say 6:45am. I love it!!
