Ok now I am somewhat caught up.
Well, Katie and I have been talking for a couple of weeks now about her hair being a problem. Its always in knots, it hurts to brush it because of the knots. If its not braided everyday its in knots, always in her food, static, and on and on! So we looked into where we could donate her hair. I have always done locks of love but then found out they charge cancer patients for the wigs. But my sister knew of a company that gives the cancer patients the wigs for free. So I found out from here what company it was and it is
Pantene Beautiful Lengths. Sold. And they only require a minimum of 8 inches. Not 10. So we got Katie's hair washed and freshly clean, tied it in a rubber band. I measured and said we could do 10 or go down to 8 and Katie chose 10.
Please pardon the unsightly background. Its just where we did the cutting so Katie could watch.
Leo became my photographer for the cutting. He's not so good with making sure it's focused.
And WHOPPIN' 11 INCHES!!!!
So this profile of hers LOOKS JUST LIKE ME AS A KID!!!!
Holding her hair.
After all is said and done and all evened up.
She looks nine now... and that's less than a month away!
She has been thrilled about it all day!! She carried a little brush around the house, all day...
This could have been a better picture (below) if I were a better photographer. I wanted to capture what she looked like from where I was sitting because she just looked so darn cute, but I had to zoom in. So picture quality is awful. So I got up to take the picture close and something about it had changed when I moved closer. I didn't know what it was till just a few min. ago.
When I got closer she had shoved her hair behind her ears and it totally changed the look altogether.
SEE WHAT I MEAN!!
But she is adorable and she loves it!! And I love that she loves it. I guess since I never got a chance to have long hair like her as a kid I didn't ever like my hair if it was above my shoulders after a cut.
She even moves her head differently now.
Its fun to watch.
