I finally woke Hugh at 5 to take me to the hospital.
I was checked in and was at a 3 and 30%.
Sent home at 8am.
As soon as I left Triage the contractions started. But were not very strong or lasting a long time.
Had breakfast at Hardee's.
Labored at home till 11am and went back to the hospital.
Checked in again but this time I was at 5cm. I was a keeper.
RIGHT after I was checked I felt a hard plunge from the baby and my water broke.
Got to a room and the nurse would not let me get an epidural until I had an IV and a certain amount of fluids in me.
I WAS SO MAD!!!
She had barely got the IV in and I was.... (well fill in whatever you want) ....with pain.
Checked and I was at 8cm and was informed that i would not be getting an Epidural.
2cm later I pushed out the cutest little Simon Patrick Johnson.
Born at 1:26pm
Weighed in at 7 pounds 11 oz.
Length 20 inches.
Cuteness level on a scale of 1-10....100!!
Simon's middle name Patrick is after Shawn. His middle name was Patrick. He was also born on Shawn's birthday.
I think he looks like Katie did when she was born.
She wouldn't let my Mom hold him for a long time.
My cousin Nichole came to visit with her husband. They are stationed here too and it is so great to have her close. She is expecting her first.
I did have some sort of drug that didn't help with the pain it just knocked me out. Like 10 min. later he was born. After it wore off I felt great. This was like 6 hours after he was born and they finally returned him to us.I was so mad they had him for so long in the first place. Every time he went to the nursery and they said we will bring him right back it would be a few hours. I did not have a good experience with this hospital. So be glad for those of you that live in Ft. Wayne. You get spoiled there. I miss it.
Here is Hugh right after he was born. It was too dangerous for me to hold him because I was knocked out from that drug.
Minutes old.
