Is Santa real?

So one of my sisters has 3 kids and has always been flat out honest with them about things like Santa Clause and the Tooth fairy and characters like that. While my other sister currently has 8 kids waits till they are of a certain age before she lets them know. And is sure to explain to them that it is a secret and they are not to talk about it to other people (for protection to those kids that still believe.) Both sisters are doing what is right for their family. Teach as you may want. Well the sister with the 8 kids has had an issue with her just turned 5 year old about asking if Santa is real. She has avoided answering up until a few days ago. She has finally told her the "secret" about Santa. I remarked that I could not have that conversation with Katie because she has such a big mouth. That same day I found a present for Hugh while shopping with Katie and Leo. When we got home I was going to tell Hugh that I bought him a present. So I first asked Katie if she remembered what we bought. She eventually did remember and I told her not to say anything. BIG MISTAKE! I proceeded to tell Hugh that I got him a present and Katie spits out "We didn't get you the Yoda!" As I sat there and gave her the "what for" look she then very innocently says "I think I just told you." I love her to death but she just can't keep a secret.

Yet another story...

So a couple of nights ago I had put the kids to bed and waited until I was sure they were asleep before I got the presents from the basement and put them on the table to be wrapped. As Hugh and I were admiring the toys and picturing what fun our dearest children would have playing with them we were discussing which ones would be from Santa.

Now my thoughts on that is: why are we giving some strange guy in a red suit all the credit for fun gifts. Hugh wanted Katie's camera (one of her presents) to be from Santa. "WHY?? I am the one that should be getting the hugs and kisses for such a great toy!! Not Santa." So I had decided lats year that the cheapest toy and one that is not necessarily going to be the thrill of the day is the ONE and ONLY ONE from Santa. (Call me cheap) All the rest are going to be from her dear parents.

So Hugh was eating dinner and I was looking at a toy and Hugh all of the sudden starts to say "Mommy.... Mommy" Over and over. So I look up at him with mu back turned to the rest of my house "What!?!"And he points over my shoulder and says "Mommy" yet again.

Katie had gotten out of bed and came to the dining room. As I whipped her around and escorted her back to bed she says with a grin "I saw the presents." I say "go to sleep! Do not get up again!" I go back to the dining room and Hugh says "Well we know which ones aren't from Santa."

Well that's going to be a problem because ALL the presents I had gotten for Leo were out. I still had 2 presents for Katie hidden. One of which was the present from Santa (a doll) and the camera that is going to be the most exciting thing for her on Christmas morning.

She then calls me from her room. I go back there to see what she wants.

She says "I didn't see the kitchen."

I keep my cool knowing exactly what she is talking about... "What Kitchen?"

There is a little saddness and worry in her voice this time "The Littlest Pet Shop Kitchen." Which is the only other present she has been asking for since she say it in Wal-mart like 6 months ago.

Now that had been one of the items on the table. AND SHE DIDN'T SEE IT!!!! HOORAY!!!

I can't wait till I am done playing the Santa charade.

Some cuteness from Leo

Well Leo has been really cute the past few days so I have been taking pictures of him. So here they are.

Leo was on his third Popsicle when I decided to get the camera. He was shivering so bad. Even his feet. so watch carefully. He was shivering way worse then you can see on camera.

He was in the kitchen and saying "I'm making rice." It was really cute.

Stool pushed up to the counter, Leo is unusually quiet, and 11 cookies cooling. Wait, 11? I'm sure there were 12 there? Hummmm....

Putting my very first turkey in the oven. I hope its good!!

My turkey is out and I am cooking Green Beans and potatoes. Ok they are done I am just standing there looking pretty for the camera.

Table is set and everything went on smoothly. Hope it tastes good!

Well it looks like Katie is liking it.

Leo didn't eat too much. But I don't think that was the cooks fault.

I see no complaints from Hugh and once he cleared his plate he said he can now focus on having as much turkey as he wants.

We had a guest. It was his first Authentic American Thanksgiving. So in other words the first Thanksgiving he had with Americans. He is from Haiti.

After Lunch activities include... Katie and Leo trying to hide the fact that they are taking pictures with my cell phone. Katie ended up taking about 60 pictures with it today.

And Hugh playing a game on his cell phone.

I on the other hand was the one that thought of taking pictures so I am in the ones where I shoved the camera into Hugh's hands and told him to take a picture of me. This was our first Thanksgiving without going to any parents houses so it was my job to cook the meal. It turned out great and i couldn't have asked for a smoother Thanksgiving. And my kitchen was clean before during and after all the cooking and eating. I am pleased.

I am very thankful for my family- Hugh, Katie, Leo, future Elliott and any other future kids. I am also thankful for my parents, siblings, and their family's. I am thankful for the church in my life. I am thankful to be living in a free country. I hope everyone had just as great of a Thanksgiving as I did.

Q2: Are you going to be in -------- for awhile?
A2: Not positive but it is looking like they have now extended stays and I think it will be between 2-3 years. Someone that was stationed there for 17 years said once you are there you have a hard time leaving. They like to keep people there for a long time.

Q3: Ok this one was not posted as a question.
A3: I don't have to worry too much about moving my stuff. The military pays someone to come pack it and move it to my new resident for me. Its good to because I am so far along in my pregnancy. It would take me forever to pack.
