SORRY!

I know I have promised a quilt tutorial. And its not here yet. I do promise eventually it will make it on here. I have a huge amount of pictures I took for it I just have to pick out the best ones (I'm no professional that for sure) and get them up loaded on here. I do hope when it gets put on if you have never tried to quilt because it looks scary then you have got to try this one. Maybe on a smaller scale. The one I made is HUGE!!! Hubby and I are not much of blanket sharers. We both hog and curl into our blankies its not even funny. Well with the one I made it fits our king size mattress and the corners at the end of the bed even touch the floor after making it in the morning. I can't even tell I am sharing a blanket! So I promise it will come soon.

In the mean time I have been busy trying to figure out what I want to do for my next quilt. I picked one out and then had to figure out all the measurements for all the pieces. Next step will be picking out the material I want for it. I plan to try and sell this next one but I am just not sure how much I will be selling it for. But hopefully I will have success. I would like to make a bit of a profit from making quilts. That's about all that's been going on with me.

Good Idea Bad Idea (you know from Animaniacs)

Good Idea: Putting your eggs on the front seat after grocery shopping so the other stuff doesn't smash them.

Bad Idea: Slamming on your breaks on the Highway (no one was behind me) to see an eagle perched in your tree.

I did end up having 6 cracked eggs. I was going to using them anyway so it was ok.

So there s/he sits without a care in the world. We see the eagles around here all the time. It is really cool! I was seeing them almost daily when I took the kids to school in the morning.

Katie's new pet(s)

Katie got a Sea Monkey kit for Christmas. While that may not seem exciting to some it has been great for us! It comes with a little container for them, a packet of water purifier, packet of eggs, and a packet of food. After letting the water purify for 24 hours you dump in the eggs and wait. No hassle!! So that's just what we did. I made sure the water was the right temperature for maximum egg hatching. A few days later we spotted little things in the water swimming around. Now when I say little things I mean LITTLE! I had to use I flash light shining down on the water to spot the little specks swimming in circles. So many of them too! Well after watching them grow day after day I started to notice they were disappearing. Finally one day I had to tell Katie there was only one left and not to worry if it died, I would buy more if it did. Well, thank goodness, it did not die. I did pump some air into the water and I think that helped. I guess I forgot to do that when the rest were alive. I read through the instructions again to see what I had missed. I also got online to see what to do about there only being one. Well I was informed there was a way to save the colony if there was sudden extinction. Well since we still had one I was to just leave it be for a while and all in all hope it was a female. Apparently female Sea Monkeys reproduce all by themselves. So I kept watch. I pumped in air everyday. Still keep watching. Then one day I see it. A little speck swimming in circles. YES!! The colony is saved!! Well, turns out they reproduce pretty dang quick. It seems like I saw a new baby everyday and now I can't even cunt how many are in there because of how many are now swimming around in it. As for our one female, she now has the name of Swimmy. Soon I am sure the babies will catch up to her size and we won't be able to tell them apart. But for now it works. So here are some pictures of Swimmy.

This has most of the container in the shot. And yes the babies are in there but like I said they are very small.

I cropped this picture and next so I could re-size them for a zoom. The black stuff near the end of her tail (I am guessing) are the eggs she carries. I don't know how often or how many eggs she releases at a time but it pretty neat to see all the babies! The green line down her is basically her digestive tract.

Just another shot. She was fast and I am surprised these even turned out this good.

(Next time I need to remember to clean off the out side of the container.)

HEY Look what I just found!!

10:15

I am off to bed!! Everything is ready!

And for those of you that have been waiting to see what I have been busy with...

One for each of them!! Easier to make than I thought. So excited for them to play in them. There was not enough room to set up all 3 in the same room so that will be one of the last things they get. They are not wrapped up, just covered with a fitted sheet. Simon's is the one that is all cow print, Katie's in the middle and Leo's is alternating cow, solid black and solid white. I guess more pictures tomorrow. But not all day. Sorry. Missed a bit of time today because I took a nap.

Merry Christmas!

From Patch of Heaven

7:15

Its time for bed. Kids have showered.
Leo and Simon are playing the Wii.

Katie and Hugh are watching YouTube videos.

They are now in bed but there is no way I am pulling out presents until I know for a fact they are ALL asleep! I have already learned my lesson with that one in the past.
